How Austrian ski star Anna Veith stays at the top of her game

It takes unique talent, discipline, and determination to win an Olympic medal. It’s an achievement

most of us only dream of, but we still love to see elite athletes striving to reach the pinnacle of their sport.

Alpine ski champion, and TEMPUR® ambassador, Anna Veith is no stranger to glory. She became

World Champion in 2011, picking up two World Cup titles and three Olympic medals in the meantime.

In 2014, Anna won gold in the Super-G and silver in the Giant Slalom at the Sochi Olympics. She followed that up with consecutive World Cup titles before suffering a serious knee injury during training in late 2015. Anna faced a lengthy rehabilitation. Determined to get back on the slopes, she made a triumphant return in 2018 with a silver medal in the Super-G in Pyeong-Chang - narrowly missing out on gold by 0.01 seconds.

But, skiing at speed down steep slopes isn’t all about the winning, or the hours of practice. For

Anna, rest and recovery are just as vital. “High speed turns put a lot of pressure on your body,” says Anna. “And you have to prepare your body for those two minutes, so you can give 100 per

cent. That’s why relaxation and regeneration are so important – it helps you concentrate on the

training.”

“When I sleep on my TEMPUR® Hybrid Elite mattress, I fall asleep faster, I sleep deeper, I relax better, and my sleep is more intense – it’s that simple.”

And TEMPUR® is helping Anna to keep performing at her best. “After a long season, it’s important to regenerate. The best part is sleeping on a TEMPUR® mattress, which I have access to everywhere I go, thanks to TEMPUR®.
